France's current account deficit narrowed to EUR2.2 billion in February from EUR2.5 billion in January, the Bank of France said Tuesday.

During the month, the services account surplus increased to EUR1.5 billion from EUR1 billion in the preceding month. At the same time, the surplus in the income account decreased to EUR3.2 million from EUR3.3 million.

Meanwhile, the deficit in the goods account widened to EUR4.9 billion from EUR4.8 billion. The deficit in the current transfers, however, remained unchanged at EUR2 billion.

In the financial account, there was a deficit of EUR21.1 billion in February, higher than the deficit of EUR4.8 billion in the preceding month. The capital account showed a zero balance in February, same as in January.
