France's current account deficit widened to EUR2.2 billion in March from a EUR2 billion deficit in February, the Bank of France said Wednesday.

In March, the services account surplus decreased to EUR1.3 billion from EUR1.5 billion in February, while the surplus in the income account declined to EUR3.4 billion from EUR3.5 billion in the preceding month.

At the same time, the deficit in the goods and current transfer accounts remained unchanged at EUR4.9 billion and EUR2 billion respectively in March.

Meanwhile, the financial account balance showed a surplus of EUR39.6 billion in March, reversing from a deficit of EUR21.1 billion in the preceding month.
