Francesca Eastwood, a daughter of actor and director Clint Eastwood, decided that destruction is a beautiful version of freedom. So she and her boyfriend, photographer Tyler Shields, went out, bought a $100,000 Birkin bag and carelessly destroyed it.

Francesca Eastwood, who stars on the new show E! show Mrs. Eastwood and Company, was photographed by Shields destroying the $100,000 red alligator Birkin bag. Just for fun.

The 19-year-old celeb spawn posed for her 30-year-old boyfriend in a series of photographs that captured the demolition.

For the people who don't know, a Birkin is the most sought after bag in the entire world there is a waiting list and some of them can run upwards of $100,000. This is the red Crocodile Birkin VS the red $200 chainsaw and 4 dollars of gasoline! Shields wrote on his website. Destruction is a beautiful version of freedom... Would you want this bag? Are you sad to see me destroy it?

Eastwood posted a simple tweet regarding the photographs, Sometimes you destroy what you love...

But many quickly criticized Francesca Eastwood, whose father is a multi-award-winning actor worth a reported $375 million, and Tyler Shields for their flagrantly cavalier act.

Do you realize how many animals you could have saved in a shelter for what you did? How many families could be fed? This isn't art, this is a narcisstic [sic] show of your own excesses. If you have a Birken [sic] that you can destroy then you are not living in the real world. Both of you need to grow up. By the way, your photography of this shot was mediochre [sic] as well, wrote one critic on Shields' own website.

Wow. I get that there's an art here. But at this moment in time when so many people are struggling to afford even the basics of food and shelter, surely you can see what an enormous luxury it is to own something so expensive and then to destroy it for art. How about auctioning it off and giving the proceeds to art workshops for kids who couldn't afford them otherwise? wrote another.

Don't forget that what is really being shown here is the destruction of a piece of art. This tyler person claims the photo itself to be art, but deliberately destroys hours of hand work by artisans. Work that he lacks the skill to replicate. Highly skilled craftspeople created this bag, which they cannot afford to purchase for themselves. Then tyler and Francesca come along, buy it, burn it and destroy it while proclaiming it art. Forget the money aspect - it's fraudulent artistry, posted another.

It is obvious why the destruction of a $100,000 Birkin bag would upset many.

In January 2011, Sentier Research released a report stating that the median household income in the U.S. was $50,020, 7.8 percent less than it was when the economic downturn began in December 2007.

Anger over the destruction of the bag has reached a boiling point, TMZ reported Monday. Although Ms. Eastwood rebuffed with people just don't understand art, her excuses are moot to those offended by her act. The teenager has even received death threats via Facebook and Twitter, including:

- Some of us actually have to work and live check 2 check, spoiled rotten b---- to burn 100k bag.
- You're a stupid w----. How f---ing dumb can you be.
- You should kill urself, ungrateful b---- - wasted money when families can't eat.

This is not the first time Tyler Shields has taken to destroying luxury goods for art. In January, he sawed a pair of Christian Louboutin pumps which retail for more than $600.
