Freddie Mac (FRE.N) (FRE.P), the second-largest U.S. home funding source, said on Monday it bought back $18.04 billion of its securities in a tender for up to $30 billion of its short-term securities.

Securities accepted had maturities between September 2009 and August 2010.

The tender offer of last week ended at 5 p.m (2100 GMT) on Friday, and settlement is June 9.
