What’s better than ice cream on a bright spring day? Here’s one: A free Häagen-Dazs ice cream cone. Guests will be able to order a free scoop Tuesday, 4-8 p.m. EDT, at participating Häagen-Dazs shops.

No purchase is necessary to get a free cone. Guests can order flavors like Sweet Cream Coffee Caramel and Vanilla Tangerine Shortbread.

“We look forward to Free Cone Day all year. Not only is it a fun day where we are able to give back to our guests who support us year-round, it also means summer is right around the corner,” Adam Hanson, Häagen-Dazs Shoppe president and general manager, said in press release. “Last year, we served 315,000 scoops on Free Cone Day and this year we are excited to help even more people leave the dreary days of winter behind and take a moment to enjoy Häagen-Dazs’ simple and pure ingredients.”

If free ice cream wasn’t enough, there’s another way participants can earn free items. Häagen-Dazs is hosting an “ice cream social” on Twitter. Log on at 1 p.m. follow @HaagenDazs_US and the ice cream social’s host, @ResourcefulMom, on Twitter. Tweet at the accounts with the #HDFreeConeDay. People who participate will be eligible to win American Express gift cards, a year of free ice cream at participating Häagen-Dazs Shops and gift cards for Häagen-Dazs Shops.

Häagen-Dazs showed their excitement about the free ice cream event on their Twitter account by sharing pictures of cones with the #HDFreeConeDay hashtag.

Häagen-Dazs isn’t the only ice cream shop to give away free ice cream. Carvel and Dairy Queen ran similar promotions.
