A French soldier was stabbed in the neck in a commercial district near Paris on Saturday, France's military spokesman said.

The knife attack, which occurred in the La Defense commercial district just outside Paris, occurred only three days after a British soldier was nearly beheaded in London in what's considered a suspected act of terrrorism. Although there's no word the two attacks are connected, officials in Europe were told to watch out for copycat attacks, the A.P. reported.

France's military spokesman, Col. Thierry Burkhard, said the attack wounded the French soldier, but his injuries are not life-threatening. No further details on the stabbing were available.

British soldier Lee Rigby was killed in a daytime attack on Wednesday by two men with knives who hacked at his body and nearly beheaded him in the Woolwich section of London. Michael Adebolajo, 28, and Michael Adebowale, 22, were arrested as suspects in the attacks, the BBC reported.
