Netflix just renewed “Friends from College” for a second season!

According to TV Line, the series centers on a group of friends who went to the same college but are now in their 40s and struggling with their individual lives. The eight-episode Season 1 streamed on Netflix last month and introduced a couple named Ethan (Keegan-Michael Keys) and Lisa Turner (Cobie Smulders) who are having issues with their marriage because of their desire to have a baby.

Ethan also cheated on Lisa with their common friend, Sam (Annie Parisse), who is also having some problems with her marriage to Jon (Greg Germann). Ethan, Lisa and Sam are all friends with Max (Fred Savage), who is in a relationship with Felix (Billy Eichner).

Originally, Ethan and Lisa lived far away from her friends, but when they moved to New York, they decided to bunk with Marianne (Jae Suh Park). The latter is aware of Ethan and Sam’s affair, but she’s kept it to herself until the two killed her rabbit and lied about it by buying a new one and pretending it was the same pet.

As of late, the release date for “Friends from College” Season 2 has not yet been announced by Netflix. But according to Vulture, the series did not receive positive reviews after it was released. In fact, TV Line writer Dave Nemetz even gave the comedy series a D+ grade. Even if this were the case, the people behind Netflix decided to give it a second chance.

It is also unclear what the focus for Season 2 will be, but the final episode of Season 1 saw Ethan and Lisa’s relationship falling apart. In the finale, he told Lisa that he is not sure about having a baby. Sam and Ethan also promised to never hook up with each other, but the minute something bad happened to Ethan the two ended up comforting one another.

Max’s relationship with his partner may also be explored in the upcoming eight episodes. Meanwhile, Marianne may move forward with her relationship with her boyfriend, who appeared in the series toward the end of the first season.
