English Premier League team Fulham plans to erect a statue of pop icon Michael Jackson at the team's stadium Craven Cottage.

The famed singer, who died in 2009, was a close friend of the team's chairmain.

Michael Jackson was truly a legend, a term used too often in this modern world saturated in the hyperbole surrounding celebrity, said Mohamed Al Fayed, Fulham's chairman.

The statue will be unveiled on April 3rd before Fulham hosts Blackpool.
