Gabrielle Union is not skittish about a prenup, and is actually adamant about making sure she and Dwyane Wade have one in place before they get married. As divorce rates are on the rise nowadays, most men are the ones concerned about potentially losing half their assets in a divorce.

But, if the worst happens, Union, who has been divorced in the past, is making sure she and Wade will both leave the relationship with what they came in with.

Speaking with talk show host Arsenio Hall, Union said, “For this marriage, the biggest difference between this and the last marriage will be a prenup…at my insistence. When you have you own stuff, you don’t need to worry about anybody else’s stuff. So everyone should go into the relationship knowing I’m here for you and you’re here for me. And the reality is, I’ve never seen Dwyane balance a checkbook, so I gotta protect my stuff. It’s the wave of the future, protecting your stuff,” she continued.

In December, Wade proposed to girlfriend Gabrielle Union, but he did not do it alone. After dating for several years, the 31-year-old enlisted the help of his two sons, Zion, Zaire, and his nephew, Dahveon, to help with the special moment. On the big day, Union was helping out around the house, when suddenly, Wade’s youngest son Zion held a sign with her name. His nephew Dahveon Morris had a sign saying "Will you," and his oldest son Zaire's sign read "marry us?" Wade told the Associated Press Sunday.

When Union turned around, Wade was on one knee. "Just a regular Saturday," Wade said. "My kids were involved in it. We asked her to marry all of us, not just me. We're a package deal, so it was cool." After the shocked actress said “Yes,” he placed a stunning 8.5 carat diamond ring on her ring finger.

When asked about the wedding, Union said she and her NBA star fiancé are taking a non-traditional route. “No bridesmaids. No bridesmaids, no groomsmen. Trying to wrangle a bunch of broads, like oh, somebody wants one kind of dress, somebody wants something else, you start to not like them after a couple of months. So, yeah. We’re older. This is the second time around. It’s just us and the kids. We’re just riding out, just us.”
