It has been reported that Samsung Electronics is likely to make an important announcement at the SXSW festival in Austin, Texas, Friday.

Rumors suggest that the Korean company is planning to unveil the new Galaxy tablet with an 11.6 inch display.

The rumour got spread when the officials at Pocket-lint received information from a trustworthy source about Samsung's plan to launch something special at the SXSW event.

According to the reports, Samsung Galaxy Tab 11.6 will be announced and, technically speaking, this device is said to out power the features of the newly launched Apple iPad.

Adding on the device specs list, Pocket-lint reports also claimed that the tablet would be powered by a 2GHz dual-core Samsung Exynos 5250 processor, an Android Ice Cream Sandwich and would have a larger screen display than Galaxy Tab 10.1.
