Jaime Lannister
How will Jaime Lannister handle Tywin's death on "Game of Thrones" Season 5 HBO

HBO’s “Game of Thrones” is famous for its major surprise deaths that seem to leave no character safe from possible peril. However, after a Season 4 finale that saw the untimely demise of many key characters, the ones that are still alive are going to have a lot to deal with in the new episodes. Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, who plays Jaime Lannister on “Thrones,” recently spoke to E! about how he thinks his character will handle the death of his father.

Fans will remember that Jaime let his brother, fan favorite Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage), out of prison where he was set to be wrongly executed for the murder of King Joffrey. However, before escaping the city, Tyrion made a pit stop to kill his mistress Shae, who betrayed him to his father Tywin, and Tywin himself (Did you follow all of that murder and mayhem?). Although Jaime did save his brother from an undeserved fate, fans are curious as to how he will handle the consequences of his actions, especially his own father’s murder?

Speaking with E! about Jaime’s decision to release Tywin, Coster-Waldau said, “It wasn't something that his sister would want him to do and I think it's safe to say that he didn't expect in his wildest dreams that the consequences would be that his father would get killed.” He went to talk about how he thinks Jaime will handle the consequences saying, “I think even though his father was a very complicated man, he was still his father. Jaime loved him. So it's going to be a very complicated situation for Jaime when the show comes back.”

Jaime won’t be the only Lannister suffering some harsh consequences in the new season. Cersei Lannister will have a trying scene in the new episodes featuring a “walk of shame” after being charged with infidelity and conspiracy (unlike Tyrion she’s as guilty as they come). It seems the new season will not be kind to Westeros’ wealthiest family. Season 5 of “Game of Thrones” will premiere in April 2015.
