We may finally have a release date for Season 7 of “Game of Thrones,” but so much of what will happen remains a mystery. HBO has released a poster and three teasers, all of which have been more than a little subtle.

Fortunately for thronies, Season 7 spoilers have been plentiful for the last few months. Photos have leaked from the cast on set, revealing major plot points, and cast members’ loose lips have given things away. Before “Game of Thrones” returns, here’s everything we know:

Premiere Date

The show will kick off it’s penultimate season on HBO on July 16.

The Dragons Are Back And Bigger Than Ever

Director Matt Shankman told Entertainment Weekly Daenerys’ (Emilia Clarke) dragons are as big as airplanes. Some are bigger than others.

“The dragons this year are the size of 747s,” Shankman said. “Drogon is the biggest of the bunch — his flame is 30 feet in diameter.”

Bran (Isaac Hempstead Wright) Will Have To Make Some Tough Decisions

In an interview with EW, the actor said a lot of Bran’s story is up in the air right now. He’ll have to face difficult physical challenges while also making hard decisions. Hempstead Wright wouldn’t say what those obstacles would be, but admitted it wasn’t looking good for Bran.

“Bran is in the same position he’s in [at the end of Season 6], which is kind of like, ‘What am I gonna do? What’s gonna happen? Is he gonna tell Jon? Is he gonna find anyone? Is he even going to make it past the Wall?” he questioned. “He’s only with Meera [Ellie Kendrick] now, and he’s out in the middle of nowhere, so it’s not looking great.”

Who Will Be The First To Die?

Hempstead Wright may be feeling nervous about his chances, but “Game of Thrones” fans seem to think he’ll be fine. Instead, many have placed bets with oddsmakers speculating that Theon Greyjoy (Alfie Allen) will be the first to die. Not far behind are Melisandre (Carice von Houten), Ser Davos (Liam Cunningham) and/or Jorah Mormont (Iain Glen).

Arya’s Direwolf May Return In Season 7

“Game of Thrones” spoiler blog Watchers on the Wall reported that Maisie Williams, who plays Arya, was filming in Calgary, Canada. At the same time, Instinct Animals For Film was there. The organization provides the wolves who portray Ghost, Nymeria and the others on “Game of Thrones.”

The group poster two photos on Instagram, one of Ghost and one of another wolf. The name of the second wolf wasn’t revealed, but “Game of Thrones” fans speculate based on it’s appearance that it’s Nymeria. The wolf has been away since Season 1.

“Game of Thrones” Season 7 Will Be All About Connections

In a Feb. 16 interview, Allen described the upcoming season as “crazy.” He told the publication there would be lots of confrontations and reunions between characters. Allen wouldn’t say who would be coming together in Season 7, but his tease is more than enough.

“It’s definitely going to blow a lot of people’s minds,” he told Mashable. “It’s still the same running theme; characters that haven’t crossed each other’s paths before will do, and they’re gonna take it even further this time. People have loyalties that they have to examine.”

It’s Going To End On A “Major Cliffhanger”

Williams has been clear that she’s not a fan of spoilers. That hasn’t stopped her from dropping a few major bombshells about Season 7 of “Game of Thrones.” In an interview with Time Out, she opened up about the second to last season, revealing the main goal.

“It’s just kind of tumbling down now,” she said. “We’ve come to the climax and it’s rolling down to the end. It’s exciting. I really felt like at the end of last season, everything was set up for how it was going to end.”

During a separate interview on The Radio 1 Breakfast Show with Nick Grimshaw, she also teased the finale. Williams went on about how excited she was about the Season 7 closer, telling the show’s hosts it was going to be good. She added that it left her excited about Season 8 and trying to pry information from the writers — who could blame her?

“I made educated guesses and we try and get answers and bits of information from the writers, but they keep it close to their chest. It’s so exciting...it’s just a great finale, it makes me excited for the series after,” Williams said, adding, “People should be very, very, excited.”

Conor McGregor Will Not Appear

Despite rumors to the contrary, the UFC fighter has not landed a role on “Game of Thrones.” He addressed the false stories while chatting with Good Times Network. On Jan. 13, he revealed that almost everyone heard claims he was guest starring on the HBO show before he did.

“I’m banged up, my shin’s in a heap, I’ve been kicking [Nate Diaz’s] knees straight for 25 minutes, my leg’s in bits, and he’s [UFC President Dana White] trying to offer me a ‘Game of Thrones’ role,” McGregor said (via Daily Mail). “And I’m saying, ‘Listen...I’m not trying to be in showbusiness, I’m trying to be in the fight business. Come at me with a real number to fight again.’”

Ed Sheeran Will Guest Star In Season 7

After trying for seasons to get the “Shape of You” singer to appear, creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss claimed victory. Sheeran agreed to to a guest spot, according to EW, and the reason they did it will make your heart flutter.

“For years we were trying to get Ed Sheeran on the show to surprise Maisie and this year we finally did it,” Benioff said during SXSW.
