“Game of Thrones” star Natalie Dormer has compared her character, Margaery Tyrell, to Kim Kardashian. The actress has likened the fictional queen in the wildly popular HBO drama series to the modern-day selfie queen.

“The most modern of all the characters in ‘Game of Thrones,’ she is very much a PR genius. Now she would be one of those It girls, tweeting and Instagramming their latest dresses and raising money for orphanages by running half-marathons,” Dormer as as she described Margaery while talking to the Daily Express.

“She’d be rivalling Kim Kardashian for numbers of followers on Twitter and Instagram!” Dormer said, while thinking about her character in a modern-day setting. In the series, Margaery is part of a wealthy clan, who have manipulated their way into the throne and into the hearts of the common people. House Tyrell has donated food and other resources in order to win the approval of the masses. Meanwhile, Margaery has found her way into the heart of King Tommen.

In real life, the Kardashian-Jenner clan have also invaded the TV and computer screens of millions of people worldwide. Kim is also one half of an entertainment power couple with her husband, Kanye West. While the Kardashians and the Jenners have less than sinister intentions compared to the Tyrells, the similarities are undeniable.

Rolling Stone has also compared the members of the Kardashian-Jenner clan to the characters in “Game of Thrones.” In an article published last month, the publication also made comparisons between the reality TV family and the characters taken from George R.R. Martin’s novels. In Rolling Stone’s comparison, Kim was described to be closer to Tyrion Lannister instead of Margaery.

The HBO series “Game of Thrones” is based on the book series “A Song of Ice and Fire.” “Game of Thrones” is expected to return with its season 6 in spring 2016.
