As the cease-fire between Israel and Hamas stood for a second day, Israeli conditionally agreed Wednesday to extend the halt to hostilities. It’s unclear whether Hamas also intends to continue the cease-fire.

"Israel has expressed its readiness to extend the truce under its current terms,” an anonymous Israeli official told the U.K.’s ITV.

A 72-hour cease-fire, which took effect at 8 a.m. Tuesday local time and is set to expire on Friday, was agreed to on Monday. The conflict in Gaza is nearing one month.
