Sophie Simmons reportedly ducked out of Father's Day celebrations on Sunday, but the daughter of Kiss front man Gene Simmons had a good excuse: She was auditioning for The X Factor.

Simmons, the 19-year-old daughter of Gene Simmons, jetted off to San Francisco from her Los Angeles home with dad and mother Shannon Tweed to try out for a spot on The X Factor, TMZ reported.

TMZ said Simmons told judges Simon Cowell, Britney Spears, Demi Lovato and L.A. Reid that she didn't want to be judged by her last name made infamous by Kiss.

This isn't about my dad. This is about my audition, Simmons, who also stars in A&E's Gene Simmons: Family Jewels told TMZ.

But Sophie Simmons didn't have to audition alone without the support of her parents. Simmons and Tweed reportedly chartered a private jet to cheer on their daughter in San Francisco.

We think she's the most talented, wonderful, charming daughter but we just want her to get want a fair shot, Gene Simmons told the Daily Mail.

So far, there is no word on whether or not the judges will vote in favor of Sophie Simmons for The X Factor.

Sophie Simmons isn't the first offspring of a famous face to audition for a reality competition show. Last year, Jane Carrey, the daughter of comedian and actor Jim Carrey, auditioned for a spot on American Idol, but was cut after the Hollywood round.

The X Factor, in its second season, premieres in September.
