General Electric Co is cutting jobs in its finance arm but the company hasn't given a specific number and could be as much as 11,000 positions.

General Electric Capital is cutting between 7,500 and 11,000 jobs, or as much as 15 percent of the company's entire workforce, people familiar with the company’s plans told Bloomberg.

But spokesman Russell Wilkerson Friday did not confirm the figure, a company spokesman Russell Wilkerson said, according to CNBC television. He didn’t specify but admitted the company is cutting jobs.

We leave that to the business leader to communicate that, the spokesman said.
