While George Clooney and rumored girlfriend Stacy Keibler did not walk the walk carpet together, their appearance at the Los Angeles of premiere of The Ides of March continued to spark the interest of fans and gossip columnists alike.

Instead, Clooney posed for photos on the red carpet with Ryan Gosling, who looked just as dapper as his silver haired co-star and director.

The premiere, held at the Samuel Goldwyn theatre in Beverly Hills on Tuesday, was also attended by Ides actresses Marisa Tomei and Evan Rachel Wood.

The Ides of March, which tells the story of a failed presidential run, complete with dirty politics and scandals, is well on its way to becoming a heavyweight competitor come movie awards season. The film has received much praise for its star-studded cast, which also includes Paul Giamatti and Philip Seymour Hoffman (who skipped the L.A. premiere). On Sept. 9, Ides won the Brian Prize at the 68th Venice International Film Festival.

But back to the rumored new couple.

Clooney, 50, and Keibler, 31, were first spotted together at the Toronto International Film Festival in early September.

The two clearly work not only as a pair, but also independently . . . George was not overprotective and didn't have to look after her, a source told Us Magazine at the time.

Keibler and Clooney's last girlfriend, Elisabetta Canalis, have something else in common other than the famous actor - Dancing with the Stars. Keibler competed in season two of the reality show while Canalis was voted off season 13 on Tuesday.

The Ides of March, starring and directed by Clooney, arrives in theaters on Oct. 7.
