Pop icon George Michael is no more.

The “Careless Whisper” singer died on Christmas Day in Goring, Oxfordshire. A South Central Ambulance Service arrived at his plush home at 1:42 p.m. GMT, according to BBC. The Thames Valley Police have ruled his death as unexplained but not suspicious. The cause of death is reportedly heart failure, according to AP.

2016 has been a difficult year for music lovers around the world. After David Bowie, Prince and Michael’s death, music lovers have gone through the death of three major artists. However, the best way to mourn legendary pop stars is to hear their music. Here are five of Michael’s greatest songs – songs that defined his career:

1. “Carless Whisper”

Soulful, romantic song “Carless Whisper” released in 1984 in the album “Make It Big.” At that time, Michael was playing in a band called Wham! with Andrew Ridgele. The song quickly became a hit and ensured that the singer became a sex symbol of the ‘80s. There are few people on this planet who have never heard this famous track.

2. “Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go”

“Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go, Don’t Leave Me Hanging On Like A Yo-Yo.” Who can forget the chart-topping peppy track that can kick-start any party, even today? The song was also released in 1984.

3. “Last Christmas”

Again released in 1984, the holiday pop song saw handsome George Michael enjoying a Christmas in a cabin surrounded by snow. While a romantic story unfolds, his friends revel in snow fights, putting up Christmas decorations on the tree and eating sumptuous food.

4. “I Want Your Sex”

In 1987, “I Want Your Sex” immediately became a controversial song after its release. Although it cemented Michael’s image as a sex symbol, it was released during a time when AIDS was spreading rapidly in America.

5. “Faith”

The song may start with church organs but it definitely doesn’t end with it. The rock-and-roll beat is the perfect track to play on road trips.

Michael released five solo albums and sold more than 100 million records worldwide.
