Tuesday, Germany's Federal Statistical Office confirmed annual inflation at 0.7% for April, faster than the 0.5% recorded in March.

Month-on-month, the consumer price index, or CPI, remained unchanged in April, in line with the preliminary estimate released on April 28, after falling 0.1% in March.

The harmonized index of consumer prices, or HICP, rose 0.7% year-on-year in April. The HICP was flat compared to the preceding month. Thus, the preliminary estimates for April were confirmed.
