FXstreet.com (Barcelona) - Consumer prices have edged down in Germany April from March, and the year on year growing pace has moderated considerably due to lower prices in holidays, accommodation services, and education, as reported by German Statistics.

Inflation at consumer level as gone 0.2% down on the month, following a 0.5% increase posted in march, while the year on year growing pace has decreased to 2.4% from the 3.1% yearly rise posted in March.

Prices for package holidays have declined 7.4% compared to April 2007, prices for accommodation services edged down 0.4%, and tuition fees introduced in April 2007 have not added to inflation once a whole year has passed. Prices for food and alcohol rose 7.1% on the year.
