FXstreet.com (Barcelona) - German forward-looking GfK Consumer Confidence Index for February has remained unchanged at 2.2, according to data released by the GfK institute for economic studies.

January's reading has been revised up from the 2.1 previously estimated. In February, Germans' propensity to make big purchases seems to have improved substantially, rising to a reading of 15.5, from -6.3 in Jan, on the back of lower interest rates.

The economic expectations index has edged down to -32.9 in January from -32.4 in Dec, while income expectations increased to -6.4 in January from -12.9 in December.
