FXstreet.com (Barcelona) - Ifo business climate for industry and trade has declined clearly in April, as most of the surveyed companies assessed their current situation as worse than in March, according to the latest survey by the Ifo economic research Institute.

In April, the business climate index has dropped to a level off 104.2 points from 104.8 points in March; with the current situation index dropping to 108.4 in April from 111.5 in March.

In regards to the outlook for the next six months, companies are not more optimistic, the expectations index has declined to 96.8 points from 98.4 points in March.

After a brief improvement at the beginning of the year, business sentiment seems to have come into a weakening period, as retarding forces, present since mid 2007, seem to have strengthened again.
