RTTNews - Monday, Germany's Federal Statistical Office announced that the import price index dropped 11.3% year-over-year in June, compared to the 10.4% fall in the previous month. This was the highest price decline since February 1987. Economists were looking for a decline of 11%. A year ago, import prices were up 7.9%.

On a monthly basis, import prices increased 0.4% in June, after a flat reading in May. Economists had expected an increase of 0.7%.

Meanwhile, export prices declined 2.9% year-on-year in June, compared to the 2.7% drop in the previous month. Export prices increased 0.1% compared to the preceding month.
