RTTNews - Friday, Germany's Federal Statistical Office said in a preliminary report that the consumer price index or CPI rose 0.1% year-over-year in June, compared with a flat reading in May. Economists were looking for a decline of 0.1%.

On a monthly basis, the CPI increased 0.4% in June, after falling 0.1% in May. Economists had expected an increase of 0.2%.

The harmonized index of consumer prices or HICP remained unchanged on an annual basis in June, marking the same pace as in the previous month. Economists were looking for a drop of 0.1%. Month-on-month, the HICP climbed 0.4%.
