The Federal Ministry of Economics in Berlin reported on Wednesday that manufacturing production has grown by around 1.9 percent compared to August levels.

The Ministry expects production to continue at a similar pace in the coming months.

Meanwhile, the country's construction industry experienced growth of 1.2 percent, while industrial production grew at a pace of 2.3 percent.

Growing production has had a beneficial impact on the labor market as more jobs have been created. The IW German Institute for Economic Research estimates an increase in employment of 270,000 by the end of the year. In 2007, unemployment could fall beneath 4 million, said the Cologne-based Institute.
