RTTNews - Tuesday, Germany's Federal Statistical Office announced that the ILO jobless rate stood at 7.7% in May, marking the same pace as in the previous month. A year earlier, the jobless rate was 7.4%.

The number of unemployed amounted to a seasonally adjusted 3.32 million in May, compared to the 3.34 million in April. Year-on-year, unemployment was up 140,000 persons or 4.6%. On a monthly basis, it was an increase of 7,000 persons or 0.2%.

The number of persons in employment decreased 147,000 or 0.4% annually to 40.05 million in May.
