FXstreet.com (Barcelona) - German retail sales have edged down 0.2% in seasonally adjusted terms in December, while year on year sales have dropped 0.3%, according to data released by German Statistics.

In nominal terms, sales have increased 0.6% month on month, and another 0.6% from December 2007.

These figures come short of the market consensus, as analysts had advanced a 0.5% increase on sales in December.
