German Retail Sales Slump in March

Germany reported today the drop in retail sales in March as higher commodity prices and inflation start to squeeze spending.

Retail sales slumped 2.1% following 0.3% decline opposed to the expected rise by 0.2%. On the year, retail sales are down by 3.5% from a revised 1.5% rise from 1.1% and below the expected 1.4% rise.
