German trade surplus narrowed to 12.9 billion euros in Dec from the revised surplus of 15.9 billion euros, which was 16.2 billion euros initially, compared with forecasts of 13.8 billion euros surplus.

Exports dropped 4.3% compared with the prior 2.5%, revised up to 2.6% and estimates of -1.0%, while imports slipped 3.9% from the previous -0.4%, which was revised to -0.2%, and projections of 0.8%.

Current account surplus, however, widened to 19.3 billion euros from the revised 14.7 billion euros, which was 14.3 billion euros, compared to anticipations of 15.2 billion euros.
