Wednesday, Germany's Federal Statistical Office announced that the trade surplus stood at EUR 8.7 billion in February, up from EUR 7 billion surplus recoded in the previous month. Economists had expected the surplus of EUR 7.5 billion. A year ago, the trade surplus was EUR 17.1 billion.
Exports value dropped 23.1% year-on-year to EUR 64.8 billion in February, compared to the 23.2% fall in the preceding month. At the same time, imports value declined 16.4% to EUR 56.2 billion, after falling 13.7% in January.
