Germany reported strong trade figures for March opposed to all expectations. The trade surplus widened strongly on the surge in exports, where they rallied on the month by 7.3% from a revised 2.8% from 2.7% and above the expected 1.1 percent. The rise in exports offset the gain in exports that added 3.1% down from a revised 4.0% from 3.7 percent and above the expected 0.8%.
The trade surplus widened to 18.9 billion euros from a revised 11.9 billion from 12.1 billion and strongly above the expected 11.8 billion. The Current Account surplus also widened to 19.5 billion from a revised 8.7 billion from 8.9 billion and also above the expected 13.3 billion surplus.
