RTTNews - Friday, Germany's Federal Statistical Office said wholesale prices dropped 8.9% year-over-year in May, compared to the 8.1% fall in the previous month. This was the steepest annual decline since December 1986. Economists had expected a decline of 9% for May. A year earlier, wholesale prices were up 8%.

On a monthly basis, wholesale prices increased 0.1% in May, marking the same pace as in the previous month. The May wholesale prices came in line with economists' expectations.
