Germany adds jobs, but less than expected

FXstreet.com (Barcelona) - The German economy added 6,000 jobs in January. This represents the first episode of job creation in six months and improves on the -3,000 positions lost in December.

The market, however, had expected more robust growth of around 17,000 jobs.

The German unemployment rate for January grew in line with expectations, up to 8.2% from 8.1% in December.
