Germany's inflation was revised higher in April from the initial estimate as price pressures confirm the hawkish ECB stance.

Inflation was unrevised at 0.2% and 2.4% on the year; inflation is still higher from March's annual 2.1% rise despite slowing on the month from the previous 0.5% gain.

Nevertheless, the more critical EU harmonized index inflation was revised higher to 0.3% on the month and 2.7% on the year from 0.2% and 2.6%. Inflation is higher on the year from March's 2.3% confirming the rapid pace of price gains that is affecting the recovery.
