Fox has extended the freshman run of “Ghosted.”

According to Deadline, the paranormal comedy — which received an initial 10-episode order for its debut season — scored six more episodes from the network, bringing its Season 1 total to 16 episodes.

Entertainment Weekly reported that “Ghosted’s” current order will run into January, and then the show will go on a hiatus before returning in the spring.

“The Office” executive producer and showrunner Paul Lieberstein has also been tapped to executive produce the back six episodes of “Ghosted” and replace the series’ original showrunner Kevin Etten. Etten, who also executive produced and co-created the series with Tom Gormican, is exiting the project.

Sources told Deadline that hiring Lieberstein was part of the network’s plan to change the tone of the show and make it more of a workplace comedy. Aside from his work on NBC’s “The Office,” Lieberstein also served as executive producer on HBO’s political drama “The Newsroom.”

“Ghosted’s” additional episode order is not that surprising as the show is relatively doing well in the ratings. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the series ranks as the No. 2 new comedy of the 2017-18 broadcast season just behind CBS’ “Young Sheldon.” The show averages a 1.1 rating among the adults 18-49 demographic and 2.8 million total viewers — both before DVR returns.

“Ghosted” stars Adam Scott and Craig Robinson as Bureau Underground agents Max Jennifer and Leroy Wright; Ally Walker as Bureau Underground captain Ava Lafrey; Adeel Akhtar as scientist Barry Shaw; and Amber Stevens West as tech expert Annie Carver.

In this week’s Season 1, episode 8 of “Ghosted,” a young girl named Janie (Elizabeth Tripp) goes missing at a haunted hayride. To determine whether Janie’s disappearance is a paranormal occurrence or a mere publicity stunt, the Bureau Underground tasks Max and Leroy to go undercover and find the truth. As seen in the preview clip for the episode, Max dresses up as Michael J. Fox’s Scott Howard from the 1985 film “Teen Wolf,” while Leroy puts on a mummy costume.

Elsewhere in the installment, Barry brainstorms ways to “bro-bond” with Max and Leroy.

“Ghosted” Season 1, episode 8, titled “Haunted Hayride,” airs on Sunday, Dec. 3 at 8:30 p.m. EST on Fox.
