Gigi Hadid is taking things slowly with her rumored boyfriend Zayn Malik, who is “heavily pursuing her,” according to Grazia magazine. Malik and Hadid sparked dating rumors in November when they were spotted holding hands and did not try to hide it.

A source told Grazia magazine that Hadid knows about Malik’s “bad-boy reputation” and was being careful in the relationship. “Zayn is slightly besotted with Gigi. He’s been the one heavily pursuing her, rather than the other way round,” the source told the magazine, according to Mirror.

“Gigi is slightly more ambivalent. She’s aware of Zayn’s bad-boy reputation, and is approaching with caution. She even invited her sister Bella on their date to The Nice Guy [restaurant] to encourage Zayn to behave himself," the insider said.

Since his split with fiancé Perrie Edwards, Malik had been linked to various women, including Selena Gomez and model Neelam Gill. The source told Grazia that Malik considered Hadid to be “stunning.”

“[It] wouldn’t harm his profile to be dating a top U.S. model as he launches his solo career,” the insider added.

Hadid’s apprehension toward Malik could be the reason why she has not introduced the former One Direction star to her mother Yolanda Foster. In an interview to Entertainment Tonight, Foster revealed that she has never met Malik.

"Gigi's 20 years old, loving life, shopping like she should. I haven't met him yet, so I can't say anything about it," Foster said Saturday, according to Entertainment Tonight.

Furthermore, it was reported recently that Hadid’s friends did not approve of Malik. "Her [Hadid’s] friends do not quite understand what the attraction is," a source reportedly said. "He [Malik] is not her usual type, he doesn't share her sense of humor or ease with people [and] he's a little more self-aware and awkward."
