“Girl Meets World” has been no stranger to cameos from former “Boy Meets World” stars, and it looks like the Disney Channel series is at it again. One more key character from the original ABC show will appear on the rebooted series in Friday’s episode.

With Season 2 in full swing, Riley (Rowan Blanchard) and the gang will learn a lesson from one of her father Cory’s oldest buddies, Jack Hunter (Matthew Lawrence). Jack was introduced on “Boy Meets World” in Season 5 as the half brother of Shawn Hunter (Rider Strong). He remained a series regular until the show ended in May 2000. In that time, he became best friends with Cory's (Ben Savage) older brother, Eric Matthews (Will Friedle).

That friendship apparently will be the basis for the character’s reintroduction to the series. According to TVLine, which has an exclusive clip from Friday’s episode, Jack will be dragged back into the game by Eric, who is chasing another one of his wacky adventures.

According to TV Guide, the episode, titled “Girl Meets Semi-Formal,” sees Riley asked to the big dance by a classmate; she must decide whether to go with him or Lucas (Peyton Meyer). In the clip from TVLine, the dance is in full swing when a well-dressed Eric escorts an even more well-dressed Jack into the middle school, promising that he’s bringing him back in time to when life was “a little less complicated.” Could this mean that things aren’t going too well in Jack’s life?

When last we saw the character on the finale of “Boy Meets World,” he was about to leave for the Peace Corps with Rachel McGuire (Maitland Ward). While his time in the Peace Corps is likely long done, the character always had a mind for success. Perhaps he needs help from his old buddy to help him remember what’s really important in life?

Fans will just have to wait until “Girl Meets World” brings Jack back on Friday, Aug. 14, at 8:30 p.m. EDT to find out. In the meantime, you can check out the clip in question here, via TVLine, or watch an old scene of Jack’s below.
