“Girls” is coming back soon. Season 4 of Lena Dunham’s show is currently in production, and HBO has released a very short teaser trailer to whet fans’ appetites. The new season premiere is expected to air in early 2015.
Fans will remember that Season 3 ended with Hannah and Adam on the rocks after she surprised him with her acceptance to the University of Iowa’s writing program before his Broadway acting debut. The finale ended with her clutching the letter and smiling, though not explicitly saying if she was going to go to Iowa.
Friday’s released teaser trailer might be a clue as to what Hannah decided. The very short clip shows her riding her bike in what looks like a suburban campus setting that very well may be her new school. The clip then turns into a gag where she, very much in character, crashes the bike, and the film crew swarms to help her.
The teaser does not feature any of the other characters on the show or hint at what their situations will be. Season 3 ended with Jessa assisting in the attempted suicide of an elderly artist before the woman changed her mind, while Marnie and Shoshanna were in flux.
