Giuliana And Bill Rancic Reveal The Moment They Found Out She Had Breast Cancer And Their Baby Plans

Giuliana and Bill Rancic have had there share of bad news over the years. Since marrying in 2007 the Rancics have endured infertility, a miscarriage and the shocking news of Giuliana's breast cancer and subsequent double mastectomy. Through it all the couple have remained positive and continue to press forward with their plans.

On the season five premiere of Giuliana and Bill, the E! News host finds out she has breast cancer during a routine mammogram for her IVF treatment and has to break the news to her husband. The couple decides to only tell their parents until finally revealing the news on the Today Show. Giuliana eventually decides to have a double mastectomy after a lumpectomy fails to get all the cancer out.

Thank God I did get that double mastectomy, Rancic said on the Today Show. It was scary. There were a lot of words and treatments being tossed around.

After a lot of research and further research and further testing on me, as of now, I won't be needing chemotherapy, which is fantastic news, she added. But I will go ahead with oral medication and that sort of thing.

Despite all their heartbreak, Giuliana and Bill say they are staying positive and keeping with their plans to have a baby.

The great thing is we still have options out there, Bill said. There's a lot of things that we haven't looked at yet and we're going to dive in. I think this is going to be our year. I have a very good feeling 2012 is the year of the Rancics.

We absolutely want a child, Giuliana said. Whether I can be pregnant myself, with the medication that I'm starting, it's probably not as far as myself not going to happen any time soon. But, as Bill mentioned, you know, we are definitely looking at other options. So hopefully we'll have some good news.

Possibly adoption, surrogacy, she continued. Listen, at the end of the day, whether you have a baby naturally, by adoption, surrogacy, it's your baby, you know? You're going to love that baby, and that's all that matters.
