“Glee” alum Naya Rivera has signed on to star in YouTube’s “Step Up” revival, alongside “Couple Retreat’s” Faizon Love and “World of Dance” judge Ne-Yo.

Deadline reported that the 10-episode revival series, titled “Step Up: High Water,” is described as a heart-pounding, sexy, music-filled drama about dancers in a contemporary performing arts school. Rivera, portrays Collette, a former dancer turned administrator of Atlanta’s famed High Water Performing Arts School founded by Ne-Yo’s character, Sage Odom. Colette has a history with Sage, as well as secrets of her own.

In a tweet, Rivera wrote that she’s “excited” to be part of the revival. The actress, who rose to prominence for her role as Santana Lopez on “Glee,” also shared a photo of herself on the Atlanta set of the upcoming series.

The cast also includes Lauryn McClain, who plays Janelle, an ambitious dancer navigating the Atlanta hip-hop scene after she and her twin brother Tal (Petrice Jones) are uprooted from suburban Ohio to live with their Uncle Al (Love). As the twins settle into their new home, they meet Dondre (Marcus Mitchell), who introduces them to Atlanta’s party scene where they find out that High Water is auditioning dancers.

“Step Up: High Water” also stars Jade as Odalie, Carlito Olivero as Davis, Terrence Green as Rigo, R. Marcos Taylor as East-O, Eric Graise as King and Kendra Oyesanya as Poppy.

Four-time Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Jason “PooBear” Boyd and “Jingle” Jared Gutstadt — president, co-founder and chief creative officer of Jingle Punks — will write original songs for the series.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan Tatum — who co-starred in the original “Step Up” film — executive produce the series alongside original producers of the film Adam Shankman, Jennifer Gibgot and Meredith Milton. Series creator Holly Sorenson is also executive producing.

The pilot is directed by Shankman and is choreographed by Jamal Sims, who created the performances for the original film. Subsequent episodes will be choreographed by Jamaica Craft.

“Step Up: High Water,” which hails from YouTube Originals and Lionsgate, is expected to premiere on YouTube’s subscription streaming service, Red, this fall. The revival is the subscription video service’s first full-fledged, big-budget original drama series.
