U.S. gold futures rose to a record above $1,900 an ounce on Monday, as economic fears and worries over inflation triggered additional bullion buying.

U.S. gold futures for December delivery rose $45.10 or 2.5 percent to $1,897.30 an ounce by 3:57 p.m. EDT, after hitting a record at $1,900.8 an ounce.
