Vancouver-based Sacre-Coeur Minerals Ltd. said Friday that a new dredging machine and related equipment has boosted gold production by more than 50 percent at its north-central Guyana operations.

Since the new mining and refinery equipment has been commissioned at the company's Million Mountain Property, 90.2 troy ounces of gold have been produced over 17.2 24-hour days of operation for an average production of 5.24 ounces of gold per day.

In the last two days that level of output has risen 53 percent to eight ounces of gold per day.

Based on the success experienced to date, with further refinements to the existing system, and with the addition of more production unit(s) the company believes it will be able to completely cover its total costs, and perhaps add to its cash position from its alluvial production program, the company said in a statement.
