Golden Globes 2018 Nominees List, Winner Predictions For Best Picture Categories

The 2018 Golden Globes are less than a month away and the nominations have finally arrived.

Seth Meyers is set to host the annual event on Jan. 7 at 8 p.m. EST on NBC, but before the night of fun gets here, the day of nominations had to come first.

On Monday morning, the Golden Globes announced the TV and film nominations via a livestream and the entries are pretty close to what many were expecting.

The two top categories for movies, Best Picture (Drama) and Best Picture (Musical or Comedy) are filled with the movies of the year that had that extra award-season flair to them. Now the only thing left to wonder is which nominee will come out on top come January.

Of the choices for Best Picture (Drama) - “Call Me by Your Name,” “Dunkirk,” “The Post,” “The Shape of Water” and “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri” – from both fan and industry reactions it’s likely that either “Call Me by Your Name” or “The Post” will take the top spot. Narrowing it down, the winner prediction is going to go to the former.

As for the Best Picture (Musical or Comedy) nominees – “The Disaster Artist,” “Get Out,” “The Greatest Showman,” “I, Tonya” and “Lady Bird” – the choice for winner is a bit harder. Narrowing it down to the top two would be “Lady Bird” and “Get Out,” with the winner most likely going to be “Get Out,” based on the overall reception and uniqueness of the film.
