The official nominations for the 2018 Golden Globe will be released on Monday, and early predictions suggest that Freddie Highmore could be recognized at the awards show.

Highmore plays the lead role in “The Good Doctor,” an ABC breakout series for 2017. According to Entertainment Tonight, Highmore could be nominated in the best drama actor for television because the people behind the Golden Globe typically include new and successful shows.

“The Good Actor” also became a standout series because it tackled autism in a real world setting. Highmore’s character, Shaun Murphy, is a surgeon who also suffers from autism. As such, he has difficulty expressing himself and talking to his peers.

Very early on in the series, it has been revealed that one of the biggest questions in “The Good Doctor” is whether or not someone like Shaun, a smart doctor who has autism, should be given the opportunity to work at a hospital.

Meanwhile, Entertainment Weekly is also predicting the possibility of Highmore being nominated in the same category at the 2018 Golden Globe. Other predictions for best drama actor for television include “This Is Us” star Sterling K. Brown, “Mindhunter” lead star Jonathan Groff, “The Deuce” actor James Franco and more.

According to Deadline, the announcement of nominees will take place on Monday, Dec. 11, from the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California. The nominations will be streamed via Facebook Live on the Golden Globes’ official Facebook page, as well as the official website for the Golden Globes.

NBC’s “Today Show” will also broadcast the second half of nominations beginning from 5:30 a.m.

This year, there will be a slew of nominees for 25 different categories, namely, best motion picture – drama, best motion picture – musical or comedy, best motion picture – animated, best motion picture – foreign language, best performance by an actress in a motion picture – drama, best performance by an actor in a motion picture – drama, best director – motion picture, best screenplay – motion picture, best television series – drama, best original song – motion picture and more.
