Companies are rushing to join Google+ Businesses' test phase before the application closes Friday at 6 p.m. PST.

Google launched an extra online sign-up form because the previous form had filled up, according to Google+ project developer Christian Oestlien.

Google+, the company's social networking site, made a smashing debut two weeks ago and attracted a flood of users, including businesses. The platform wasn't created for businesses, but Google recognized the need to create a business-oriented Google+.

The Internet giant asked all businesses to stop joining or to cancel their accounts, and are now taking in applications from companies to be selected for the test phase.

Any business account not chosen for the beta phase will be deleted. Oestlien posted Please note that we are still actively closing profiles that are being used by businesses today.
