The Google Nexus 6P has been launched to replace the Motorola Nexus 6 from 2014. The new Nexus 6P is smaller and cheaper than the last year’s Nexus handset.

One of its major competitors is the Moto X Pure Edition (2015) phablet that comes with impressive specs and reasonable pricing. Here is the comparison of specifications, features and price between the Google Nexus 6P and the Moto X Pure Edition (2015):

Design And Display

The Huawei Nexus 6P measures 159.3 x 77.8 x 7.3 mm and weighs 176 grams. The Motorola Moto X Pure Edition (2015) is smaller device than the Nexus 6P as it measures 153.9 x 76.2 mm. However, it is slightly heavier as it weighs 179 grams.

The Google Nexus 6P is blessed with a full-aluminum chassis. It is available in colors like aluminum, graphite and frost. The rear panel features a fingerprint scanner.

On the other side, the Motorola device comes with a dust and splash resistant plastic chassis. The Moto Maker customization tool allows user to completely personalize the appeal of the front and rear panel with different color accents and real wood and leather back covers. It does not feature a fingerprint sensor.

Both the handsets feature 5.7 inches display supporting Quad HD resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels. The AMOLED display of the Nexus 6P is protected by Gorilla Coring Glass 4 and offers a screen-to-body ratio of 71.6 percent. The Coring Glass 3 shields the IPS screen of the Moto X Pure Edition (2015). It offers a higher screen-to-body ratio of 76.36 percent.

Chipset And Storage

The Google Nexus 6P has arrived with Snapdragon 810 v2.1 chipset that features a 64-bit octa-core processor and 3 GB of RAM. It lacks a microSD slot, but offers internal storage options like 32 GB, 64 GB, and 128 GB.

The Moto X Style is powered with a 64-bit hexa-core processor of the Snapdragon 808 SoC. It also features 3 GB of RAM. It is available in native storage variants like 16 GB, 32 GB and 64 GB. The external storage supports 128 GB of microSD card.

Camera And Software

The Huawei Nexus 6P features a 12.3-megapixel rear camera. The selfie camera of the handset is of 8-megapixel. The camera present on the rear panel of the Moto X Style is of 21-megapixel. It features a front-facing flash for the 5-megapixel selfie camera. Both the handsets lack the Optical Image Stabilization feature for their rear-facing cameras.

Both the handsets feature stock Android OS. The Nexus 6P comes preloaded with Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The Moto X Pure Edition (2015) that has arrived with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop will be one of the first handsets to receive the Android 6.0 OS.

Battery And Price

The Nexus 6P is powered by a 3,450 mAh battery. However, the Motorola handset is equipped with a smaller battery of 3,000 mAh capacity.

The Google Nexus 6P is priced at $499, $549 and $649 for the 32 GB, 64 GB and 128 GB models, respectively. The Moto X Pure Edition (2015) is available for $399, $449 and $499 for the 16 GB, 32 GB and 64 GB variants, respectively.
