Google's New Year Doodle Brings Alive Roman Spirit

Welcoming the New Year 2011, Google has put out a new Doodle, a festive Roman number MMXI (2011) featuring fireworks along with G and E which otherwise should read Google but here oogl is replaced by Roman numbers for 2011 in the middle.

Other notable holidays the Doodle has honored included the Halloween with sweet treats, Thanksgiving with gluttony, and the Christmas holidays with 17 interactive images of holiday destinations and cuisines from around the world.

Google Doodles also featured famous personalities like Mahatma Gandhi, Jane Austen, John Lennon and Rosa Parks whom it had honored with commemorative illustrations throughout the year 2010.
