Google has announced that it will soon be rolling out an update to its News & Weather app for Android and iOS devices. The search engine giant doubles down on delivering news to users by adding 200 more articles a day.

“We find that many people regularly hit the bottom of our Home page looking for more to read,” Google News product manager Anand Paka said. “To offer you further opportunities to discover great content, we’ve added over 200 news stories to the Home screen in a browsable stream called More Headlines.”

The More Headlines section is located at the very bottom of the News & Weather app’s home page. Extra content from the business, technology, entertainment and sports sections will be loaded to the More Headlines section of the app when the update arrives.

When a user taps on one of the stories and return to the homepage, related articles will now be present on the there. Overall, the update to Google’s News & Weather app seems like a way to make sure users stay engaged and keep scrolling through news stories.

Google also reminded users that the News & Weather app will continue to use an algorithm to make sure that all news presented are relevant to users. The more a person uses the app, the better it finds news that’s relevant to the user’s interest, as pointed out by Android Central.

The Google News and Google Weather apps will also be prioritizing publishers that have adapted to Google AMP format. AMP, or accelerated mobile pages, is a mobile-friendly format for websites to make loading pages faster for users on smartphones and tablets.

Google didn’t say exactly when the update to the News & Weather app will arrive, but users should expect to see it in the next few days. The app currently has more than 100 million downloads as indicated on the Google Play Store.
