Gordon Ramsay and wife Tana Ramsay suffered a tragedy of their own this past weekend. The “Hell's Kitchen” chef took to Facebook on Monday to provide fans a devastating update on his wife’s pregnancy.

The 49-year-old thanked fans for showering him and his family in support following their May announcement that they were expecting a fifth child together. He went on to reveal that over the weekend Tana, 41, suffered a miscarriage. She was five months pregnant with a baby boy at the time. Gordon thanked fans once more, this time for seeing them through their devastating loss. He added a special message of gratitude to the medical staff at Portland Hospital, where it appears Tana was treated.

“Hi guys, Tana and I want to thank you so much for your support over the past couple of weeks. We had a devastating weekend as Tana has sadly miscarried our son at five months,” Gordon wrote. “We’re together healing as a family, but we want to thank everyone again for all your amazing support and well wishes. I’d especially like to send a big thank you to the amazing team at [London's] Portland Hospital for everything they’ve gone. Gx.”

As was reported by E! News, the initial announcement that Tana was expecting was made during an appearance by Gordon on “The Late Late Show.” On May 14 he shared with host James Cordon, as well as fans, that more than one decade after welcoming their last child — 14-year-old Matilda Ramsay — they were having another.

No further details are available at this time.
