Gotham Season 2 Ep. 22 Synopsis
Fish Mooney (Jada Pinkett Smith) will come back to life in episode 21 of “Gotham” Season 2. Fox

After Theo Galavan was finally wiped out once and for all on Fox’s “Gotham” Season 2, Jim Gordon and Bruce Wayne thought things might get a little easier. Unfortunately for them, another villain from the past is going to be brought back to life by Hugo Strange and a friend of theirs will be in grave danger in episode 21, titled “A Legion of Horribles.”

According to the synopsis, Fish Mooney (Jada Pinkett Smith) will return thanks to Hugo Strange (BD Wong). The promo video for episode 21 shows Strange waking up Fish from the dead and she remembers exactly who she is. It’s unclear if she’s going to take Strange’s orders or if she’ll act on her own and seek revenge on Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor). Penguin is slowly getting back to his seat of power and he finally avenged the murder of his mother by taking out Theo. Now he’ll have to deal with Fish once again.

Episode 20 came to an end on a cliffhanger. Selina (Camren Bicondova) broke into Arkham and was looking to try to get her friend Bridgit/Firefly (Michelle Veintimilla) out of the facility. When she finally found her, Bridgit was already brainwashed by Strange and she appeared to use her flamethrower on Selina. Was Selina really burned or will Bridgit keep her as a prisoner in episode 21?

Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz) will have to team up once again with Alfred (Sean Pertwee), Gordon (Ben McKenzie) and Lucius (Chris Chalk) when they find out “a friend is in danger.” This friend is Selina, but Bruce could be walking into a trap to save her. The promo video for episode 21 shows that Bruce feels responsible that Selina is in trouble and he wants to make it right. This will take him to Arkham where he’ll encounter Nygma (Cory Michael Smith), who will be trying to get information out of him for Strange.

The preview video also reveals a twist in Strange’s storyline. Up until episode 21, Strange’s motives for turning villains into monsters hasn’t been revealed. It now looks like Strange is taking orders from someone, especially after a woman with white hair is shown telling him that he failed. Could episode 21 show who is behind Strange and the Indian Hill facility in the show before the season finale?
